Marsha Davis, principal of the Onsted Elementary School, has introduced the sport of pickleball to her staff and students in a colossal way.
Authors Karen Worthy and Jackie Freeman were invited to do not only an in-service for the staff this summer, but also paint a full-size court on the multi-purpose room floor. The staff fell in love with the sport, and thanks to Paddletek in Niles, MI, staff members had an opportunity to purchase their own paddles.
Marsha is a cutting-edge administrator who wants her staff and students to know the value of learning the fastest-growing sport in America. Kids will begin learning this sport in gym class, and you can count on Jackie and Karen to help teach.
The multi-purpose room will be open to the community every Tuesday evening, 6 - 8 pm., for OPEN PICKLEBALL PLAY, so the community is invited to learn and enjoy this fun sport.
As authors of the children’s picture book, Karen and Jackie will be guest readers for the school’s Family Reading night on November 14, 2022.
If you are interested in inviting us to your school for author visits and teaching the sport to children, please let us know. We are always looking for ways to promote the sport of pickleball!
